Colham Manor is an inclusive Primary School. We are proud of how we value and support each and every one of our children. We expect all our children to reach their full potential and support their individual needs to ensure they can reach the highest standards they are capable of. Teachers plan lessons to ensure all children make progress in class, taking into account their attainment level and individual needs.
Our school is currently undertaking a review of the SEN Report to ensure it continues to meet current requirements for SEND in line with the SEND Code of Practice 2015. To provide an improved, compliant report we are committed to co-producing this with families, children and young people. The consultation period for reviewing our existing report begins on 02/09/2019and ends on 18/10/2019. To contribute and participate in co-producing our policy together please contact Mrs Bootes.
Some of our children have specific needs, requiring extra support additional to what can be provided in the classroom. For these children we provide specific support programs, delivered by trained staff in the Launch Pad, a specially resourced provision within the school for children with additional needs. These children may be identified as having special educational needs or at the early stages of learning English as an additional language.
If your child has additional needs or you are concerned that they may have, you should contact your Class Teacher in the first instance. If required or recommended by the Class Teacher, Parents are welcome to contact the school and ask for an appointment to meet with the Inclusion Manager or Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.

Pastoral Team
On our Inclusion team, we have two Key Workers and one Pastoral Support Assistant. These valuable and highly skilled professionals offer support and guidance to vulnerable children in the school.
Many children need emotional support at some time, which the Pastoral Team are able to provide in a welcoming and non-threatening environment.
Parents who think their child may benefit from this support should contact their class teacher.

Welfare
The welfare of all our children is very important. Our Welfare Officer ensures that all children with medical needs and disabilities are fully cared for whilst at school.
Medical assistance will be given should your child become unwell and we always contact parents if we are concerned.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding medical needs, you are welcome to contact the school and ask to speak with or meet the Welfare Officer.
