Universal Infant Free School Meals

 

Currently, pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal thanks to a different government funding scheme known as Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM). You shouldn’t confuse UIFSM with free schools meals and the Pupil Premium.

You may be entitled to Free School Meals no matter what year group your child is in.  If eligible, the school will also receive extra funding in for the form of Pupil Premium.  You can check here: https://pps.lgfl.org.uk/

 

If you are eligible but you want your child to have a packed lunch from home, that's fine.  You should still apply so that your child can be provided with extra resources in school.
