Frequently Asked Questions from Parents

Question

Answer

What are the timings of the school day?

We have a soft start from 8:30-8:40. If your child arrives after 8:40, please go to the office as they are late. The school day ends at 3:15.

Can I take photos of my child at the Stay & Play?

Yes, so long as other children are not in the background. We encourage families to be present during the Stay & Play session and keep phones away.

Where do I go on the first day?

Please enter the school grounds and head to the reception playground. The Reception playground is accessed via the KS1 playground and through the big blue gates. Please follow the signs.

Who is Stay & Play for?

Stay and Play is just for children who are new to Colham Manor Primary School. If your child attends nursery at Colham Manor, they will not attend Stay and Play but instead be welcomed for a transition session.

What will Stay & Play be like?

You and your child will be invited into the setting with other children and their families. This will provide an opportunity for children to get to know the learning environments and some of the other children. While your child plays, you will have the chance to speak with the teachers.

Can we purchase the school uniform during the Stay and Play?

No. All uniforms are purchased online.

For the tour and stay and play, should they wear their school uniform?

No, no need for your child to wear their uniform for Stay and Play, although you might choose to have them wear it to start their routine of getting dressed for school.
