3. Strengthens immune systems
4. Establishes healthy eating habits
5. Provides energy for active play
6. Prevents nutritional deficiencies
7. Shapes their relationships with food
8. Encourages social and emotional growth
9. Reduces risk of obesity
10. Long-term health benefits.
Oral Health - NHS
Supervised tooth brushing at nursery and school has been shown to be effective at improving oral
health for children. Colham Manor Primary are taking part in Hillingdon’s Community Dental Service’s’
Supervised tooth brushing programme for children.
Each child taking part will receive free toothbrushes and toothpaste and your child will be
brushing their own teeth under the supervision of the nursery/school staff who have received
full training. It is important to note that this is not intended to replace tooth brushing at
home with you in the morning and last thing at night before bed. Brushing before bedtime
is especially important, in order to prevent plaque and food particles staying in contact with
the teeth at night.
Please ask your child's class teacher for a consent form to partake in the programme.
